Beautiful location, comfy stay!
Had a nice couple of nights at this cozy spot! The breakfast spread was super yummy, especially those homemade muffins. Staff were really nice but had to go back and forth for details like the wifi pass. The room could've used a few more cups! Worth a visit!

It made our trip to Wilderness a fairly nice experience. Every detail of this incredibly beautiful and absolutely brilliant property was brand-new. Incredible and welcoming staff, provided information if needed. The room was fantastic and spotless, ideal for 7 nights. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good with muffins and Danish pastries, as for instance.

staff can only be praised most highly. friendly, courteous, just nice. for example, food for our son (11 months) was prepared in the hotel's own kitchen, as we ourselves did not have a stove in the room. Furthermore, the location was great for us, as we were in Hilderness for hiking and the trails were easy to reach. If you want to go directly to the center or to the beach, you walk (estimated, we took the car) half an hour. The breakfast is English, but perfectly adequate and okay for the total price (R1220 for 2 nights and 2 person + baby).
we lived in one of the rondavels. you have your own room plus your own bathroom, but: it all needs a lot of renovation! bedroom is very dark, mattresses and lamps (some of them with glass cut off) make it seem as if time has stopped. in the bathroom there is old pvc or linolium, curves or rises at the corners. bathtub also serves as a shower, although the shower curtain also looks very outdated and is about 30 centimetres too long, so that it hangs in the bathtub all the time. rust also sets in everywhere and when showering it is not possible to prevent the water from flowing to the floor where it will stay for the next 24 hours. one should also not expect much from the pool. bar and dining room gave us the feeling of being on a school trip home in the 70s. It was clean here, however, you still couldn't get rid of the musty impression.

We loved its ideal and perfectly comfortable location.
Location: the hotel was near to the Fairy Knowe and a very enchanting Wilderness and surrounding scenery of natural beauty. Furthermore, in the dinning area during breakfast time...

The setting has a nice rustic charm with picturesque surroundings and substantial river views. The included breakfast is quite decent, with a reasonable assortment that could make mornings a bit brighter.
The maintenance needs attending-the main building has peeling paint, and some features feel a bit tired. Room amenities can be lacking, like the absence of cutlery in self-catering rooms and an unreliable DStv that didn't work . Some of the rooms are excessively humid, with an old ceiling fan that does little to help. The cleaning service leaves something to be desired-rooms were not cleaned or towel service provided throughout our stay, which isn't what you'd expect. WiFi was also nonexistent.

It was just a great match for a short staycation in Wilderness with good value for money. The outside walls had a nice rustic charm despite the peeling paint. Make sure to check the condition of room facilities before settling in.

The room I stayed in was spacious and had a lovely view of the grounds. The proximity to the Touw River offered a picturesque setting perfect. Breakfast featured a good variety, and I appreciated the homemade muffins. Particularly one gentleman at the reception, showed genuine hospitality as a traveler. The kettle cord was too short was great. The restaurant felt underused by guests. Even though I tried it, the food was just okay. Some areas in the main building seemed to need maintenance, like peeling paint and outdated decor. It detracted from the overall charm of the hotel. Even though there were some quirks, the very inviting atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings more than made up for the downsides.

A wonderful location right by the river, the hotel has friendly staff that genuinely aim to make guests feel at home. The spacious deluxe room offers stunning views, though some amenities were lacking, and the overall maintenance could use improvement.
